Brows For Round Faces

My gay former office mate Omar, whom I worked with from my previous call center job recently sent me a message through Facebook asked me actually begged me to clean up my eyebrow and erase whatever I put in there when I posted a selfie of myself as it's making my face rounder. He's not really a super close friend but he is known to be a very tactless person lol. I know he cares because he doesn't want me to look bad but it still hurts. He said I'll look more beautiful if I'll have my eyebrows done by a professional. Because of that, I've checked on the internet to learn how to do brows for round faces and found some tips on how to do your eyebrows if you have a round face like me. The goal is to make a round face appear less round by making the face appear longer. Again, the solution is to apply lines that go more up and down the face since it helps draw the eye up and down and lengthens it. You need to create as high an arch as you can. You need to stay away from rounded brow shape as this will make the face look very round.

Now that I know what I'm doing wrong, I will not make the same mistakes again. I hope that next time Omar sends me a message, it will now be a compliment on how I greatly improved my eyebrow lining skill. :)

Bring Back My Hair to Life

My hair has been my problem for the longest time. It’s stressed out, dull and dry. What I just want to attain is to have long, curly, brown hair but the result was a nightmare! Too late have I learned that you can’t have your hair permed right after dyeing your hair…worse is if you perm it yourself! So here I am, desperately researching on how I could improve the health of my hair and here’s some tips I stumbled upon the internet.

1)  Use a Vitamin E rich shampoo to turn dry, dull hair into a silky, smooth tresses. Don’t use hair products that contain Lanolin or Silicone, as there ingredients tend to dry hair quickly. If you are like me who uses hair dryer every day, use the cool setting since hot air can scorch your hair and your scalp as well.

2)  Use baking soda to remove chemicals out your hair. When care care product build up – they leave your hair dull and dry. All you need to do is combine a quarter cup of warm water with tablespoon of baking soda to form a thin paste. You just need to spread the baking soda and water mixture on wet hair. All you need to do is to use a wide tooth comb to distribute it evenly into your hair and scalp.

3) If you have a beer at home, you can pour it in your head! Seriously, if you want a terrific fix to dull and dry hair, lather your hair with a bottle of dark beer and let it sit for a few minutes then rinse with cold water to add shine and eliminate any residual beer smell. Beer helps repair damaged hair cuticles which makes your hair shiny and smooth.

4) Try to give your dull, dry hair a quick make over by giving it a treatment that smells as fresh as a garden herb. All you need to do is to mix jojoba oil with three drops of essential rosemary oil. Massage into hair and rinse with cold water.

These are just some practical tips that we can apply to revive back your dry, boring hair. I’ll personally try these tips and will update you of what the result will be. Goodluck!

A Gift from my Niece Liezl

My niece Liezl gave me those a Covergirl and Olay items as a Christmas gift! I really love it especially the Covergirl blush on. It's like a paste that you need to put on to your cheeks to have a radiant pink effect. She said these are one of those items that was included in her Covergirl kit that she got as a prize for a Covergirl contest. One of the best gifts received so far from my relatives. I'm teary eyed...

For My Happiness

Yesterday after I was allowed to go home four hours before my shift hubby fetched me. We were supposed to eat out but wasn't able to find a food stall that is open 24 hours so we just decided to go home. Recently, I've been feeling low maybe because I wasn't able to go out, watch a movie or even do window shopping because of monetary reasons. Me and hubby are just content in cooking our own food and watching dvd's at home. Yesterday before sleeping, I was able to read some of my old fashion magazines and I was inspired to buy those Natural Skin Care Products. Those are the types of products are made especially for sensitive skin. I was never really into beauty products but I would like to give it a shot this time as I want to feel more beautiful...maybe it would help to boost up my self confidence and make me happy again. I hope by buying stuff for happiness and passion for life would come back.

Plucking the Easy Way

I’ve been having issues with my eyebrows, it grows so fast that I need to pluck them every two to three days and yeah, it’s a pain in the butt. The usual ritual is simple, pull, wince and hope for the best. But on my case, what usually happens is most often than not, I pluck some of the wrong hairs. Haha. It makes my face look odd. Good thing, I was able to learn the right and easier way to pluck my eyebrows. To avoid overtweezing, you need to fill in brows with powder then cover the hairs that you want to remove with concealer. Check to make sure that brows are in proportion to your face then simply pluck the hairs away. It might be a more tedious process but it’s better than to be sorry. Happy Tweezing!

Looking Good

Here are some valuable tips on how to take care of yourself and your precious make ups...

1) For a sharp point on lipstick and eyeliner pencils, without as much waste, put them in the freezer for a few minutes before sharpening.

2) Revive dried up mascara by holding the close tube under hot, running water for a  few minutes. The mascara inside will soften and you'll have more to use.

Planning to Have a Baby

I'm already on my 30's and I know for a fact that sooner or later...I would need to decide whether or not to have a baby of my own. Currently, I with my hubby is already saving for the future so that just in case we already want to have our little angel maybe in a year or two - we would not have any financial problems. We would still have a convenient life when he comes. I would really want to

The Lost Boy and Drug Addiction

OMG! I was shocked to know that one of the Lost Boys, Corey Haim, just died yesterday morning March 10th. I can still recall the first time I've watch the movie almost 23 years ago in 1987 with my sister, it really freaked me out and I really had difficulty sleeping that night. It's just so sad that many people thinks that his death is somehow associated with his addiction to drugs. Los Angeles police who investigated the case said that Haim died Wednesday morning of an apparent drug overdose.
His mother Judy called 911
